As a Best Friends Animal Society Network partner, The Haven answered LA Transport Haven MARU In Route To LA Sept 2016the call to help neighboring network partners save homeless cats and dogs who were affected by the recent floods in Louisiana. The Haven troops left in their Mobile Adoption Rescue Unit (MARU) before sunrise Wednesday, September 14 and returned that night with 28 animals who originated from open-intake municipal shelters that were affected by the ravaging waters, some no longer operational.

Woof Trax and Pokemon After more than a decade caring for homeless, furry, four-legged creatures, The Haven is turning its attention to electronic creatures found on the streets of Fairhope, and to helping the people searching for them.

For instance, a player might need to walk five miles to hatch a rare Pokémon egg, but as a professional adult, want to avoid being spotted playing Pokémon. The Haven has the perfect disguise in the form of a shelter dog to accompany him on his walk.

Fireworks and the 4th of July!  They go together.  So American!  However, pets and fireworks don’t go together.  In fact, pets’ reactions during this holiday can cause serious problems for the family that doesn’t prepare.  Observe your pets during the festivities to see if they exhibit any unusual behavior – shaking or trembling, excessive drooling, barking, trying to hide, refusing to eat, even bladder or bowel problems.  24PetWatch reports that call statistics show that pets go missing more during the 4th of July than at any other time during the year.
