“Put Your Nose in a Good Book” Youth Coloring Contest

FAIRHOPE, AL – This May, The Haven invites children aged 4 to 15 to showcase their artistic talents in the eagerly awaited “Put Your Nose in a Good Book” Youth Coloring Contest. It’s a celebration of animals, creativity, and community spirit!

Children can begin their artistic adventure on May 1 by picking up a coloring sheet from The Haven, Page & Palette bookstore, Fairhope Public Library, or the United States Sports Academy in Daphne. With categories tailored for Little Artists (4-7 years), Young Illustrators (8-11 years), and Teen Creators (12-15 years), there’s a palette and a possibility for every young participant.

Our esteemed panel of judges will be looking for creativity, neatness, and vibrant use of color. Prizes will be awarded in each age category, with a 1st and 2nd place, ensuring multiple chances to win! 1st place winners will receive a gift certificate for Page & Palette, a Haven t-shirt, and ribbon. 2nd place winners will receive a Haven t-shirt and ribbon.

Contestants should submit their masterpieces by hand-delivering them to The Haven by 3 pm on Friday, May 31. Winners will be revealed during an exuberant awards ceremony on Wednesday, June 5 from 2-4 PM at the Fairhope Public Library’s Summer Reading Kick-off Event at 501 Fairhope Avenue. Entries will be proudly displayed at The Haven and other locations after the festivities on June. It’s going to be a festive day filled with fun, art, and excitement!

“We are thrilled to offer a platform where the youngest members of our community can express themselves through art,” said Michael Graham, Executive Director of The Haven. “This contest is a fantastic opportunity for kids to engage in reading and creativity in a fun and colorful way while highlighting the important role pets play in our lives.”
