This May, The Haven is calling all young artists between the ages of 4 and 15 to participate in the “Put Your Nose in a Good Book” Youth Coloring Contest in Fairhope, AL. It’s not just an ordinary contest—it’s a vibrant celebration of creativity, community spirit, and our furry friends.
How to Participate
Starting May 1st, grab your coloring sheet from The Haven, Page & Palette bookstore, Fairhope Public Library, or the United States Sports Academy in Daphne. Whether you’re a Little Artist (ages 4-7), a Young Illustrator (ages 8-11), or a Teen Creator (ages 12-15), this contest has a spot just for you.
Prizes and Judging
Creativity, neatness, and color use are what our judges are looking for. There are exciting prizes across categories:
1st Place: Gift certificate from Page & Palette, a Haven t-shirt, and a ribbon.
2nd Place: A Haven t-shirt and ribbon.
Winners will be announced on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, from 2 p.m. to 4 p..m. at the Fairhope Public Library’s Summer Reading Kick-off Event at the library located at 501 Fairhope Ave. and later published on The Haven’s website and social media. By entering the contest, participants and their guardians agree to allow The Haven to display the entries on our website, social media, and in other promotional materials.Decisions made by the judges are final.
Entry Guidelines
1. Submission Deadline: Entries must be received by Friday, May 31, 2024 at 3 p.m. CST
2. Age Categories:
• Little Artists: 4-7 years
• Young Illustrators: 8-11 years
• Teen Creators: 12-15 years
3. Add yourself in the picture with a book or a pet, or both! Be creative.
4. Participants must use the official coloring page provided, featuring a cat and dog reading a book.
5. Coloring can be done with crayons, colored pencils, markers, or paint.
6. One entry per participant. Collaborative work is not permitted.

- May 1st – May 30th: Pick up your coloring sheet at one of the following locations:

- Fairhope Public Library, 501 Fairhope Ave., Fairhope, AL 36532
- Untied States Sports Academy, 1 Academy Dr., Daphne, AL 36526
- May 31st: Deadline for you to submit your completed coloring sheet to The Haven on or before May 31st by 3 pm, during normal business hours, along with the participant’s full name, age, and contact information.
- June 5th: Celebrate with us at the awards ceremony on June 5th, from 2-4 PM at the Fairhope Public Library’s Summer Reading Kick-off Event where our special guest judges will announce the winners!
