Pets – City of Fairhope Animal Shelter

The City of Fairhope Animal Shelter has awarded The Haven No-Kill Animal Shelter the contract to provide animal care and sheltering services as well as manage their shelter since 2000. The City of Fairhope provides field services to the community utilizing their animal control officer, along with the assistance of the Fairhope police department, to educate the citizens about pet responsibility and enforce local ordinances  Together, The Haven and the City of Fairhope have sustained a 90% live release rate for the stray animals impounded at Fairhope’s shelter.

Below are a list of found cats and dogs currently at the City of Fairhope Animal Shelter, located at 559 South Section Street in Fairhope. To reclaim your pet, please bring a current photo ID issued by the government, your pets current rabies certificate, your pet’s license (for Fairhope pet owners who reside in the Fairhope city limits only), and a check or money order to pay the pet redemption fee payable to the City of Fairhope.

PET REDEMPTION FEES

Dogs: The owner of any dog impounded for being at large must pay $25 for the first offence, $50 for the second offence, and $75 for the third offense. Dogs who are impounded due to being stray at large greater than three times may be issued a citation.

Cats: The owner of any cat impounded for begin stay at large must pay $25 for the first offence, $50 for the second offence, and $75 for the third offense. Dogs who are impounded due to being stray at large greater than three times may be issued a citation.
