The Haven Lifesaving Impact

The Haven cares for 700-800 animals annually. Our lifesaving programs and services provided to the people and pets in our community have transformed lives creating a safe place for lost and homeless pets. Since 2000, The Haven has contracted with the City of Fairhope to provide their animal care and sheltering as well as to manage their shelter. Thanks to their support and the support from countless others in the community, The Haven and the City of Fairhope Animal Shelter has been able to sustain a 90% live release rate or higher for their shelter. Both homeless pets at The Haven and those lost animal impounded into the City of Fairhope Animal Shelter receive medical care, nutritious food, and lots of love. Cats enjoy our outdoor and indoor catio (aka Cat Community Center) and the dogs have tons of fun in the play yards. Our veterinarians we contract with provide us with spay and neuter services and other reduced vet care services tom help heal our animals and prepare them for a new, loving home.

The Haven is delighted to join forces with the Human Animal Support Services (HAAS), a national initiative working to transform animal welfare. We are also proud to be a long-standing network partner with Best Friends Animal Society, a 501(c) 3 who collaborates with shelters and rescue organization to increase lifesaving of dogs, cats, and other pet’s in America’s shelters.

The Haven has placed over 10,600 homeless pets into loving homes, performed over 10,000 spay/neuter surgeries, and much more. We are here to help serve the community and end pet homelessness, together.
