Animal Shelter Receives No-Kill Award from Best Friend’s Animal Society

Fairhope, AL – Tuesday, October 17, 2023– The Haven No-Kill Animal Shelter is pleased to announce its recent recognition for achieving and maintaining “no-kill” status in 2022 by the esteemed Best Friends Animal Society, a distinguished national animal welfare organization dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters.

The Haven is a member of the Best Friends Network, which comprises more than 3,700 animal shelters, spay/neuter organizations, and other 501(c) 3 public charities across the country working to save the lives of dogs and cats in their communities.

“This prestigious award signifies The Haven’s exceptional commitment to the welfare and well-being of our four-legged friends, and it acknowledges our relentless efforts in achieving a remarkable milestone,” said The Haven’s Executive Director, Michael Graham. “We are deeply honored to receive the award from Best Friends Network. This award reflects our entire community’s tireless efforts, from our dedicated staff and volunteers to the compassionate individuals who have opened their hearts and homes to our shelter animals. Together, we have proven that saving lives and creating a no-kill future is not just a dream but a tangible reality.”

The Haven’s journey towards achieving no-kill status was marked by strategic partnerships, robust community support, and an unyielding commitment to the welfare of every animal that crossed the nonprofit’s threshold. It’s a testament to what can be accomplished when individuals, organizations, and communities work together with a common purpose: to save lives and ensure every pet has the opportunity to find their forever home.
