Who let the dogs out?! If you did and they show it, come to The Haven’s Walk, Wag and Wash-a-thon, sponsored by Give A Dog A Bone Do-It-Yourself Dog Wash and Pet Boutique. The event will take place at the Dog Wash, located at 59 S. Church Street on August 30, from 9am – 1pm. Under the guidance of shop owner, Molly Beasley, she and the Haven volunteers will wash your dog for a donation of $10. The Wash-a-thon will immediately follow The Haven’s 1st Annual Mystic Mutts 5K Race that is scheduled to start near the Fairhope Public Library at 7am that morning. “It will be a full day for The Haven,” said Stephanie Calhoun, the Haven’s Board President. “After your dog walks the race, they can freshen up and cool off at the dog wash.”
“Give a Dog a Bone likes to help raise money for the Haven each year” said Beasley, “so a Wash-a-thon just seems like a great way to do that. I have always been impressed with their staff and volunteers for their selfless dedication to find so many dogs and cats a forever home. I just want to do my part to help raise needed funds for medical treatments, warm blankets, cleaning supplies and daily necessities. I encourage everyone to bring their pet out for the event.” Molly is donating her shampoo and time, so all proceeds will go to The Haven, the adoption guarantee animal shelter.
