It is “raining cats and kittens” at The Haven for Animals in Fairhope, Alabama. According to Michael Graham, Executive Director, “Our shelter is packed with over 70 cats and kittens. People to adopt one or more are urgently needed.” For the month of July, because of the unusual situation, the fee to adopt a cat or kitten
is only $5, a huge discount from the normal $125 fee. The adoption process is quick and easy, to speed a kitty out the door and into your loving arms.

If you don’t see a cat or kitten on our website that interest you, please let our helpful staff know so they can assist you with your search. A “fur-ever friend” can bring much happiness into your home.
The Haven has an immediate need for donations, to help defray the expenses involved in getting a cat or kitten ready for adoption. And, if you want to contribute more than $5. for your kitty, any amount helps. The normal adoption fee covers so much – vaccines (a series for kittens), microchip, spay/neuter, triple tests for feline AIDS, feline leukemia, heartworms, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and, 30-days of pet health insurance, and everything else to prepare one for a new home.
The Haven also needs temporary foster homes, for those not able to adopt. All instructions and food will be provided. If you can take a cat or kitten, or two or three, into your home for a short period, your will be a “Haven Hero”. Fostering can be one of the most rewarding things you will ever do.
