We are currently conducting virtual adoptions with scheduled curbside pickup.
If you would like to adopt, please follow the steps below:
1. View our available cats and available dogs and click on the pet that you are interested in adopting.
2. Click on the orange button, “Interested in this animal? Click here!” to complete an online adoption application. You will be prompted to enter your first and last name as well as a valid email address in order to complete the online adoption application.
IMPORTANT: Please ensure the entire online adoption application is completed. Applications that are incomplete are unable to be reviewed.
Adoption Policies
• Adopters must be 18 years or older and present a valid photo ID.
• Adoptions are conducted by virtual processes only. We have suspended on-site adoptions at this time due to COVID-19.
• Online adoption applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Incomplete adoption applications are unable to be processed. Once you are contacted with approval notification and schedule a virtual Meet and Greet with the pet, you can adopt the pet the same day. A “curbside pickup” will be arranged for you to pick up your new pet.
• All pets are required to be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Due to COVID-19, any pet that is not spayed or neutered prior to adoption may be adopted as long as the adopter complies with the requirements:
– Adopter provides a $100 cash refundable deposit
– Signs The Haven’s Spay and Neuter Agreement
– Adopters live within a 15-mile radius of our location at 559 S. Section Street in Fairhope
– Adopter’s previously owned pets are spayed or neutered.
• Our adoption processes are in place to help find permanent loving homes for our precious charges. We want to ensure the pet you wish to adopt is a good fit for your lifestyle. At the same time, we understand that circumstances can change for any of us at any time. If you’ve adopted a pet from The Haven, you have 14 days to return the pet and can exchange for another pet. Refunds are available within the 14 day period beginning the date of the adoption.
