The Haven is proud to offer Project PAWS, a vital initiative designed to support the health and well-being of our community’s pets. Project PAWS provides low-cost spay and neuter surgeries, along with rabies vaccines for pets 12 weeks and older.
This program is committed to making pet care affordable so pets can stay with their families and not contribute to pet overpopulation.

Additional Services & Charges
Rabies Vaccination — $26
Alabama law requires all owned dogs, cats, and ferrets to be vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian. If your pet is already vaccinated, you must provide proof at the time of scheduling. If not, the $26 fee will be added to your appointment.

Optional Add-On Services
During surgery, pet owners may opt for additional services such as DA2PP vaccines (dogs), FVRCP vaccines (cats), diagnostic tests, and deworming medications. These costs are not included in the program and must be paid by the pet owner.

Payment Policy
Payment in full is required when booking your reservation.
Cancellations must be made at least 3 business days in advance. Missed appointments without proper notice will incur a $35 no-show fee per appointment.
Accepted payment methods: cash, credit card, debit card, or money order. Credit and debit card transactions are subject to a 3.5% convenience fee.
Important Considerations
Project PAWS covers low-cost spay, neuter, and rabies vaccines only. All other veterinary care is the pet owner’s responsibility.
The Haven is not liable for any issues that may arise post-procedure.
Pet owners must transport their pet humanely in a pet crate to and from the appointment. The veterinarian may require pre-surgical services which will be the pet owner’s responsibility.
