In the heart of our compassionate community, The Haven No-Kill Animal Shelter has launched a unique and heartwarming initiative โ€” the Rent-a-Rover program. Imagine a lunch break, a sunny day, and a wagging tail by your side. That’s the experience we’re bringing to you.
The Rent-a-Rover program is about more than just a quick getaway. It’s about fostering a connection, building memories, and sharing joy โ€” while helping our adoptable dogs find the loving forever homes they deserve.

The program operates Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. We close briefly from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm to ensure the well-being of our furry friends.

๐Ÿ“‹ What Do I Need to Participate?

 Must be 18 years of age or older with a valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or passport).

 Visit our website and view available dogs. You’ll need to note the name of the dog you’d like to include in the Rent-a-Rover form.

 Complete the Rent-a-Rover form. A Haven team member will contact you to schedule a meet-and-greet โ€” held at the shelter or remotely via FaceTime or Zoom (15โ€“30 minutes). If there’s a connection, we’ll work with you on timing.

๐Ÿ• Only one dog permitted per individual
๐Ÿฆฎ Collar and leash must remain on the dog at all times
๐Ÿ‘ค The individual must remain with the dog throughout the outing
๐Ÿ“… Dog must be returned at the agreed-upon date and time
โš ๏ธ Waiver
The Haven is not responsible for any injuries, loss, or property damage โ€” including vehicle damage, pet-related injuries, or damage to any other property โ€” occurring during your time with the animal. By volunteering to check out a dog, you accept all risks and liability associated with your interaction with the animal during the specified period.
