What to Do If You Found a Stray Pet
Check for Tags & Knock on Nearby Doors
Look for an ID tag on the pet’s collar and check with neighbors in the immediate area. Most lost dogs are found within 1,000 feet of their home.
Create a “Found Pet” Flyer
Use the free Pet Bond Flyer Maker to create a flyer. Include the pet’s gender, approximate height and weight, breed, spay/neuter status, where and when found, a recent photo, and any special needs such as medications.

Register on Petco Love Lost
Go to Petco Love Lost, upload a photo of the pet, and search the database for a match. If no match is found, create a free found pet flyer and share it on Facebook and Nextdoor pages in your area. Frantic pet owners may already be posting about their missing pet — you could help make a life-changing connection.
