The Haven's Foster Program is responsible for saving many homeless pets and helping them find new loving homes. Dedicated volunteers open their heart and home to unwanted friendly pets who need a second chance. Fostering is just one way we are working to increase our area shelters save rates. Take a look at this video taken just a few days ago. Featured in the short video is a sweet older female Chihuahua named Janus. This girl was picked up as a stray by local animal control and entered the facility scared and nervous. She warmed up slowly with her caregivers and was simply estatic to learn she was going to be fostered since her time was up. Thanks to our volunteers for being the real heros! For more information on our foster program and how you can help, please call us at 251-929-3980 or stop by The Haven today.

June is “National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month” and The Haven has a wide range of friendly felines looking for their purrfect home.  To help give them their second chance, The Haven will be at Pet Supermarket on Saturday, June 6 from 11am to 3pm.  Then on their usual 2nd Saturday of the month, they will be at Petsmart in the Eastern Shore Shopping Plaza on June 13 at the same time.  All available cats, and dogs, will be primped and cleaned, awaiting that 2nd chance to find the perfect forever family.  Transported in the Haven’s Mobile Adoption Rescue Unit (MARU), potential adopters can see some wonderful, cuddly dogs and cats, many that have been pulled from shelters in Baldwin County. The Haven’s life-saving team will be on site ready to answer any questions to help the adopter find that perfect match.
