Realizing that pets, more than ever, are being considered family members, Unity on the Eastern Shore Pets in Church Church, located at 22979 US Highway 98 in Fairhope, is extending an invitation to the public to bring their well-behaved pets to church services.  This is the first time any church on the eastern shore has allowed pets to be part of a regular church service and it will begin on Sunday, May 27 at 10:30am and continue on every 4th Sunday of the month.  All dogs must be housebroken, up-to-date on their shots, well-socialized and on a leash seated on the floor next to their owner.  All other pets must be in a carry crate.  Well-socialized, adoptable pets from The Haven and Baldwin County Humane Society’s foster program are also invited, with each animal required to be accompanied by a responsible adult.  The Church feels that this is a wonderful way for the “entire family” to join in the Church’s Celebration of Life Service.

For the second year, First National Bank of Baldwin County will be holding a “Your Community is Our Community” campaign during June to help The Haven.  While different in what they do, both organizations service all of Baldwin County.  “We are a community bank.  We are all animal people, with pets of our own, some having adoptedStaff at First National Bank of Baldwin CountyfromThe Haven; therefore, helping The Haven is only natural, “ says Connie Wilson,  Asst. Branch Manager at Fairhope.

All First National Bank locations (Foley, Daphne, Fairhope, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach) will be accepting monetary donations for The Haven throughout June.  Each bank branch will display a Fundraising Thermometer showing a goal of $200, with the hope that there will be a friendly competition between branches.  To kick of the promotion, most branches will have a Hot Dog Sale on June 1.  Maddie, the mascot for the...
