LASF 2012 Check Presentation
Haven Board Member, Page Sute (left) accepts a check from representatives of the Lower Alabama Songwriter’s Festival.   Randy Branch (holding Haven dog Keiko) presents the check to Sute, along with Kimberly Davis (holding Haven dog Whiskey), and Charles Davis.  For the 2nd year, the festival selected the Haven to receive a portion of the proceeds of the recent event.  A total of nearly $2300 was raised for the shelter, now in its 12th year of sheltering animals.  In addition, the funds will enable the Haven to further progress in ending euthanasia as a form of animal control in Baldwin County.  “The organizers of the Lower Alabama Songwriter’s Festival are a great group to work with,” said Sute.  “The Haven will be able to give the homeless dogs and cats of Baldwin County a chance at a better life.”

In preparation for National Estate Planning Week, October 15-21, Michael Graham, Executive Director of The Haven No-Kill Animal Shelter, met with Elder Law attorney Kyla Kelim to discuss planned giving. Kyla operates Aging in Alabama, a law firm in Fairhope dedicated to protecting seniors.

On Thursday, October 18, Fairhope Pizza Hut (241 South Greeno Rd.) will be having an ALL DAY fundraiser for The Haven. We have the potential to get as much as 20% of the proceeds of pizza sold to those who submit one of their vouchers. And it's SO easy.
