Pets enrich our lives and love us unconditionally. So why not rescue a furry friend by adopting them from The Haven?

The no-kill, the nonprofit organization, has teamed up with Best Friends Facebook Post Dog 1200x1000Animal Society to offer all of their adoptable cat's and dog's age one year and four months of age for only $14!* That's right! Stop by The Haven and meet some of the most wonderful and sweet cats and dogs waiting to be adopted by YOU -in a loving, life-long home.

Thanks to Haven supporters, the no-kill shelter can offer this reduced adoption fee. The Haven's adoption package remains the same and adopters will receive all the many benefits from rescuing a Haven cat or dog. Click here to learn more about our Dog and Cat Adoption packages.

*This promotion is good from Feb. 1, 2017, thru Feb. 14, 2017, at 4 p.m.

One of the sweetest cats you will ever meet was LIVE on air this morning on WABF 1220AM.

Cloudy, a gorgeous and extremely affectionate 5.5-year-old female Siamese shared the spotlight with Lori Dubose, the talent at WABF 1220AM, the community's  radio station. Cloudy's motor was purring the entire time and loved all the attention even Cloudy with Lori Dubose at WABF 1220AMtaking a moment to snuggle up with Lori.

Like the other homeless cats and dogs that call the Haven home, Cloudy is wishing for a Home for the Holidays, where she will enjoy the rest of her life creating new loving memories with her new family.

The Haven's Board of Directors and volunteers needed a way to help the older furry residents find a loving home before the end of the year. They came up with an idea! All adoptable pets age one year and older who have lived at the no-kill shelter for at least four weeks will have their adoption fee reduced to just $28 -  to approved adopters.

"The Haven has been able to continue saving precious rescues like Cloudy thanks to donors and businesses like WABF 1220AM who share their platform to...

Exam week for students can be a very tense and stressful time. We all have heard about the studies on stress and the harm it places on our immune system. So what can be done to help students reduce their Bayside Pet Therapystress and score an A+?

Cindy Fredrick, Upper School Counselor at Bayside Academy, came up with an idea to help her students reduce their stress by bringing some pet-friendly 4-legged furry critters to the campus for some pet therapy. She contacted The Haven and the no-kill group was thrilled to be able to bring some of their adoptables to Bayside.

On Monday, the no-kill group set up their tables, hand-sanitizers, and x-pens. Dogs were placed in the open areas and students quicking came over to spend time with the dogs. Kittens were in a separate area and soaked up all of the attention. The event was a success and the students requested The Haven return next year.
